Call for european cooperation on the revolutionary left

VS is now investing more energy in developing a strategy for cooperation on the european revolutionary left. VS is reestablishing contacts with revolutionary groups and parties throughout Europe. The aim is to strengthen the struggle against european capital in general and the European Union (EU) in particular. Capitalism is organizing itself ever stronger on a European and world scale, and in order to combat it, we need much stronger international revolutionary organizing.

VS emphasis until the summer of 1998 will be on strengthening the struggle against the EU, motivating elections in other EU member states in order to reject the new EU Amsterdam treaty. In Denmark such an election will be held on May 28th 98. When Denmark voted NO to the Maastricht treaty on June 2nd 1992, we managed to stop the whole capitalist train moving toward forming the United States of Europe. The danish NO sparked discussions in most other member states and caused elections on the Maastricht treaty in France and Ireland. But offcourse european capitalism could not allow Denmark to stop its political development, so 1 year later on May 18th 93, the danes were threatened to vote YES in a new election.

Anyhow, debate on the Amsterdam treaty in as many member states as possible, can increase focus on capitalisms project, increase resistance against EU, and generally against capitalism.

As a short term objective, VS will try to organize a conference for revolutionary organizations in spring 98, in order to strengthen revolutionary cooperation.
